oh no. I’ve watched all the Monty Python movies and episodes. Monty Python is hilarious, and always has been to me. I just don’t like the uk office.

watch at least two monty python movies and youll understand it completely.

and honestly, i love em both…and it would be kinda funny in a weird way to see the cast from both shows intermingle.

i particularly love how the characters react with the 4th person, the whole mockumentary makes these shows so much funnier, just like the whole “starving children” quote in this video.

but still….the US version has a special chemistry to it

I guess I just don’t get English humor. I mean I love the American office and I know it comes from Gervais’s original show and original idea, but I just think the American office is funnier.
I’m sure if I were from the UK the English office would be funnier I suppose. I don’t know.
I mean Michael and Dwight and Jim and Creed and Toby are such amazing characters.

us americans like our shows and people in the uk like thier shows. i personally like the american office better but thats because i like amican humor more.. people are different, why argue?

I agree. People say Carrell is one of the funniest people in the world, but he’s just reading a script. Ricky writes and performs his work.

Gervais created the idea, wrote the show, directed and acted the role… then sold the idea to the US and hired Steve Carrell.
i.e. Gervais is a genius, Carrell is just an actor

The old seasons of the USA office did have the feel of a mockumentary, but not the newest season. Im not really liking the news season as much as the old ones. The characters are so different now.

And this Mcpanicfanic is where our senses of humour differs, you will never get it!

I happen to have watched both and whilst I have enjoyed the US version for the sheer novelty factor, it does not have the mockumentary feel that the UK version has, and that is the defining difference.

It’s wierd. Iv’e seen the Pirates of the Carribean movies many times, and I had no idea that the actor who plays Gareth plays the wooden eyed pirate in the POTC trilogy.
